The Israel Education Working Group of the Consortium for Applied Studies in Jewish Education  selected five areas of priority for applied research using the input and insight of over 150 members of the Israel education community. They recently published research briefs in each of these areas in order to help produce robust and applicable research in Israel Education.

The Consortium for Applied Studies in Jewish Education (CASJE) is an effort to bring together funders, researchers, and practitioners for the purpose of improving Jewish education. These individuals work collaboratively to address CASJE’s three primary areas of focus (termed “panels”): Israel Education, Jewish Educational Leadership, and Educational Sustainability.

In order to determine which questions would generate the highest impact as applied research in Israel education, and would provide the greatest utility to practitioners of Israel education broadly, the Israel Education working group engaged over 100 researchers, practitioners and funders in the field of Israel education iteratively over the course of its work, through surveys, focus groups and feedback to early versions of its work. This engagement both validated the directions the working group chose to explore, and provided useful insight into how practitioners think about their work in relation to empirical research. It also formed a nascent network of Israel educators and researchers engaged in discussions of applied research.

The working group selected five discrete areas of priority for applied research using the input and insight of over 150 members of the Israel education community.

Here are the links to the research briefs in each of the areas:
