In May and early June, Director of Education, Sara Wolkenfeld, will host virtual training sessions to help educators learn how to harness Sefaria’s capabilities as a teaching tool. Sessions include: Sefaria for Beginners, Classroom Educators, and Synagogue and Community-Based Learning. Sefaria is a living library of Jewish texts in a beautiful interface, fully interconnected, with parallel translations, for free.

The virtual trainings will be held at different levels:

Beginners
Are you new to Sefaria? Get a full tour of our site, plus a step-by-step guide to building source sheets. This hour-long online training will include time for Q&A at the end!

Classroom educators
If you are thinking of using Sefaria in the classroom, or if you already do and want to take it to the next level, this is the conversation for you! We will review some of the basics of creating source sheets and using the database, and will focus on the features that might be most useful both for teacher prep and in different types of classroom, Beit Midrash, group learning or project-based learning environments. Hear about some of Sefaria's new and upcoming features, and contribute your own ideas or classroom wish list!

Synagogue and Community-Based Learning
This training is designed for community educators and rabbis who may teach in a variety of settings, such as synagogues, JCCs, adult education programs, or other informal or experiential learning environments. We will review some of the basics of creating source sheets and using the database, and will focus on those features that might be most useful for your preparation and your teaching. Hear about some of Sefaria's new and upcoming features, and contribute your own ideas as well!
