Makom in collaboration with Jewish Education Project and The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, Inc. (JCRC-NY), have created a program for making the New York City Salute to Israel Parade a more meaningful experience for participants. In addition to offering educational workshops and film evenings, they have created A Free People in Our Land Website, containing written materials, downloadable sheets, programming ideas, songs and video clips dealing with various aspects of Israel.
Among the materials on the website:
Chag Ha’atzmaut Chevruta Booklet - A Free People in Our Land - Contains texts and guiding questions around three themes Am, Chofshi, BeAtzeinu along with three texts/events that raise questions and challenge these three values in conjunction with each other.
